Sachem Legislative Committee Celebrates Passage of School Security Guard Training Bill

The Sachem Central School District Legislative Committee is proud to celebrate the passage of the School Security Guard Training Enhancement Act (A5079E/S194D), legislation that will require specialized school-based training for security guards working in New York’s schools. 

This legislation will help ensure that security guards serving in schools receive training specific to working with students, staff, and school communities, further strengthening school safety across New York State.

The legislation has now passed both houses of the New York State Legislature and awaits the Governor’s signature.

“This is a tremendous accomplishment for everyone who worked on this effort over the years,” said the Sachem Legislative Committee. “Improving school safety has always been our goal, and we are proud to see an idea that started in Sachem move through the legislative process and reach this important milestone.”
